But with all due respect to yesteryear, we're not in the business of building replicas of antique motorcycles, meant for kickstand duty behind glass. Look past the timeless style, and you'll find a machine as rich in modern day as it is good ol' day. And one built to feel great for as far as you care to ride.
To build a motorcycle true to classic style yet make it one you want to ride all day was a challenge. We kept the rigid-mount engine design. Then devised two counterbalancers that soak up unwanted vibrations while letting the rider feel the joy of two massive pistons at work. Moving to the rear, you'll see nothing. That is, you won't see rear shocks. They're there, though. Two gas-charged shocks hidden underneath. But you'll know they're around when you find the unfilled pothole.
Powering Softail® models is the Twin Cam 88B™ motor. It comes with a traditional carburetor. Or you have the option of choosing an Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) version. It delivers benefits like smooth struts and efficient engine management, while making sure the exhaust sound that hits your ears and gut is pure Harley.
It's easier now to grab the clutch. New springs reduce the effort it takes to engage. We proudly announce all new Softail® bikes will be under warranty for two full years, for as many miles as you can ride. After all, a rolling Harley gathers no dust.
